I'm offended that the post was taken down.

I'd have thought given the nature of escorting, that an escort forum would have less politically correct bullshit.

Granted, I haven't seen the thread, and I'm unsure of it's nature, but if people are easily enough offended, that they can be offended by what some random stranger writes on an escorting forum on the internet, then they have bigger problems.

Of course. But this works both ways. What people don't realise is that when someone decides to post a 'close to the bone' comment, we are attacked for letting it ride, and when we do take action, we are accused of going over the top. We end up being the bad guys for someone's 'not very well thought out' actions. Many people on here have said that they don't envy our jobs, but you know, that's life, but please remember we are not all infallable and will make decisions that not everyone agrees with.

I would imagine that a lot of those reporting posts that they don't like, rarely post themselves.
There have been a few of Alec's posts that I thought were a bit ott, but they are not going to have a lasting detrimental effect on me, so I just let it slide, and it would bea lot better if everyone else did too.

I know Forrest (like the new avatar btw!), but unfortunately not everyoe has the same mentality, and some people really do find certain things offensive.

I think those that find posts here offensive, and feel obliged to report them all the time, should maybe stop visiting the site and find something more suitable for their delicate tastes.

Alecs post were always ott but that was why i liked them, if someone doesn't like some threads or posts there is always the "log out" button, after all it is an adult forum, why can't ppl speak their minds without risking a ban??

AS I said Lucy, personally I think he was a great poster but I was in no way surprised and I guarantee he wasn't either with his ban, (didn't sink in it was permanent and glad now that it has been reversed) but he was pushing the boundries and fair play to him for having the balls but what's the point in pushing boundaries, like you said it's the internet, we here to have a laugh and a bit of craic.

I'm still a relative newbie here, but have to admit I just don't get how this site works. I assumed it was for adults, and that free expression was allowed and adult topics could be discussed. But there are seeming contradictions:

Swearing is not allowed on the boards but hardcore sexual descriptions on reviews (and in escorts favourites) are okay.

Ads themselves offering sex for money are not EI's problem (hey it's all a co-incidence!!), but discussing adult activities such as recreational drug use or agencies is not allowed.

The site is for over 18's, but don't even think of saying anything that might offend someone!

It you don't like a thread or post, just bloody ignore it. You're under no obligation to read or reply. It's like Mary Whitehouse going out of her way to find tv programs to watch just so she can be offended!!

Fully appreciate the tough and thankless job the sitemanagers have, but surely we can all be mature about things?

This is the only electronic forum I've ever joined, and it was because of the craic I saw on the boards (and the pretty ladies ). I also acknowledge that bullying shouldn't be allowed, but FFS, why do are there so many eunchs around these days (society in general, but this site seems to be a good microcosm).

i did see the post and i also reported the post and i feel a ban is the right move for what he said in his post.
his post was in no way funny or a joke there were no smileys anywhere in his post to suggest he was joking or having fun and i found it highly abusive and insulting.
as for how long the ban should last i'll leave that to the managers but after seeing the post for myself i wouldnt ever let him back to abuse and insult people like that again.
