Why ban Alec Horan?

I'd cut the guy some slack, I read it and smileys or no smileys everything he said is true about the Irish, we do not all have each one of the traits he said but we all will know someone that has each trait, I thought it was a great post and well written and very original, i took no offense to it, it made me smile and nod my head in regcognition of all the things he said and how true they were. he just condensed all our traits into a short and very good post.

How can you comment on a thread you haven't read ? As I said before yes it is an adult site, but that also comes with a degree of maturity and sense, some posters are on the site to wind people up, humourously or not.

I can comment because I have spent quite a long time chatting to Alec and know his humour only too well. I can also comment because of the time and effort he contributes to raising this forum from the bog standard drivel it seems to be slipping into.

so because i reported alac's abusive and insulting post i am now the target of the clique......i feel so blessed.

i did see the post and i also reported the post and i feel a ban is the right move for what he said in his post.
his post was in no way funny or a joke there were no smileys anywhere in his post to suggest he was joking or having fun and i found it highly abusive and insulting.
as for how long the ban should last i'll leave that to the managers but after seeing the post for myself i wouldnt ever let him back to abuse and insult people like that again.

we don't need smileys to know something is tongue in cheek, you don't need a laugh track on everything on telly to know it's funny?

we are all adults here so as an adult if I don't like someones point I will either argue it or ignore it, no need for outside interference

I agree fair amount of drivel about, yes you my well see Alec's point of view, but without seeing the thread we have no idea if it was offensive to some people or not.
