    This thread is pure horseshit.

Irish is a dead language. It died out somewhere between the early seventeenth and mid-eighteenth centuries.

What we THINK of as Irish today is a reconstructed form of the dead language, rebuilt by the the burgeoning nationalist movement in the late 1800s. The Gaelic League, all that sort of thing. They revived anything and everything that was dead Gaelic as a means of promoting nationalism.

So please, let's not start whining on about our dead IRA grandads who threw off the yoke of British imperialism and how we're all so very very proud of being Irish. You had no control over where you were born - it's simply a matter of where your parents fucked, so suck my mousecock!!!

if you run a traceoute on the domain name escort-ireland.com you can see that it's not actually hosted in Ireland, so technically yeah Irish is a foreign language on this site.

You may not have a choice where u are conceived or born, but that dosent mean u havent pride and attachement to where ure
from. Every day of the week u see people showing pride and sense of belonging to their birthplace, basically the pride of the
parish. If u were in Croke Park last sunday there were small villages represented there in All -Ireland club finals, the sense of
community and pride shown is huge, people in their 80s and 90s travelling to watch their neighbours and friends representing them
If u saw what that meant to them people ud know what pride meant.
If what u say is true why are people up in arms about no jobs and having to emigrate, sur in ure eyes every place is the same
they have no reason to be upset about having to leave.

I find this thread interesting in many ways.. I don`t speak irish as it was not taught in schools up north when I attended them..but what interests me is the fact so many defend the Irish language here on the forum this last few days.. last year there was an outcry on the radio about the leaving certs and how many school leavers had dropped Irish from what they had wanted to learn.. it was even discussed how many had gone and been diagnosed with dyslexia so they did not have to study it...though decided to take another language to study.. I think anyone who can talk several languages fluently should get an award.. no matter what the language is.. they should be proud of what they achieved...x
