Why must people put others down or say bad thing that aren't true behind someones back???

What is it with the human condition that makes people act like that?

It's human nature I'm afraid, some people just can't resist back stabbing, on the other hand I know a lot of people see the positive about everything and it wouldn't be in their nature to say a bad word about anybody.
