A 51-year-old French father of two is suing pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline, claiming their drug Requip – which is used to treat Parkinson’s - resulted in him becoming addicted to gambling and gay sex.

Didier Jambart says after he started taking the drug, he began gambling, exposing himself on the Internet and engaging in risky sexual encounters that led to him to being raped.

His lawyer stated that after Jambart lost his family's life savings on online gambling sites, he attempted suicide three times.

Jambart had taken Requip from 2003 to 2005 and claimed his behaviour stopped when he stopped taking the drug. His lawyers have stated that the drug has been known for years to have side-effects but a manufacturers GSK only began printing a warning on its package in 2006.

Requip's warning label states some of its users "developed gambling problems or other intense urges or behaviours that were compulsive or unusual for them, such as increased sexual urges or behaviours."

Jambart is suing the company for €450,000 ($610,000). GlaxoSmithKline have yet to comment.

    What do you think?

What the enemy would be to busy gambling and have orgies to bother defending their posts?
