Besides if you are banned you have no way to contact anyone as your pm is shut off straight away!

I can see about the layers in an organiszation but is it not better for the community to have more imput into these matters.
Besides it would be two layers. Those that enforce the rules and an appeals board and that would be it.

I do not think in house as you put it works as despite best efforts it would not be seen to be impartial.
In my previous incarnation, I was a manager and yes I understand your concerns.
Appeals procedures always exclude those people involved.
For example if Sam infracted you, although he would present his evidence, he would have no further input in the procedure.

For any appeals procedure to succeed successfully, it has not only to be open and fair, but to be seen as open and fair.
Unfortunately the very nature of this board makes this somewhat difficult.

Some form of compromise has to be made, hence the problem!

Personally I don't see a major issue wirh the current procedure.

Overall, I think that it has worked but there will always be occasions where personalities clash, and rash decisions are made. I have seen bans reversed, in the past, in the cold light of day, so I am sure it is possible to remove an infraction in the same way.

The rules are there for all to see and it's up to the members and escorts to accept them or just stay away from the boards.
What happens if the appeals panel do not overturn an infraction - they are then accused of siding with management. Threads will always be started and arguments will ensue when someone popular is banned or infracted. I know Shirleyy was annoyed last night for receiving a 2nd infraction, and probably still is, but she hasn't been banned, and will hopefully continue posting, so no real harm done.

Mods and managers are human and are only doing their job based on the rules in place.
Remember the old phrase "You can catch more flies with honey rather than vinegar"
This is a thread not out to either attack the Mods/Managers or to specifically address the incident with Shirley.
I started it as a discussion point into whether an appeals process would be a good idea, and whether the community should have more of an input into these decisions.
If an appeals board do not overturn a decision it may be said that they are siding with management but at least you would have had an oppertunity to put your case to people that had no part in giving you a sanction.
I do not see how the vinegar honey thing applies as I am only asking a question and not trying to start an arguement.

Another point which has to be made is decisions may be related to PMS, private issues not posted on the boards. This information is not for public view and this would make your suggestion completely unworkable.
We have several mods, and 3 managers. Its not a one man band, and issues get discussed behind the scenes.

No, I would however think of the circumstances I received an infraction and if it was undeserved PM a manager to review the infraction.
If I received three unfair infraction and then banned, I would rethink my position on this board.

However if I received an infraction fairly, then I would accept responsibility for my actions and the punishment provided.

Maybe the boards should be taken offline for a week. Let everyone walk away for a while, get some air, have a think, cool down a bit. It just seems to me that it's taken far too seriously sometimes.

It'd be interesting to see if after the week, some of us didn't return ........

I never said it was an attack on the Mods/Managers, but none of your threads are as innocent as you like to make out, as you are calling into question how they adopt the sanctions and I'm sure the timing of this thread is purely coincidental

You are assuming you know what goes on behind the scenes regarding bans & infractions, and that the mods and managers don't already discuss everything in a fair & reasoned manner.
As for the vinegar/honey reference, if you annoy people enough they will get fed up.
If you know, understand, accept and respect the rules you will have no worries about bans or infractions.

I wonder has Mammy ever thought of doing away with the boards entirely, and just keeping the site as advertising pages for the escorts...

Point 1. Please specify what you mean by saying none of my threads are as inocent as I try to make out! I posed a question and asked for a discussion. I do not need you to ake speculation on my motives. Anytime I ever had an issue I bring it up in a forthright manner.
Point 2. I never said the managers did not discuss things in a fair manner but when decisions are made behind doors without a option to appeal it does cause issues. Justice not only has to be done but seen to be done.
Point 3. This is a forum where rows often happen and things get said and to be honest I would rather see that than just middle of the road beige posters all the time.
