It amazes me - so many people, so much more intelligent than me, can believe in this stuff. I just don't understand it.

    Ok lets see,

God doesnt make us love him and be good because we are programed too, that is not true love or reallyt being good, so God gave us free will and the option of loving and living by his rules etc, It is for this reason that bad things can happen to good people becuase by having free will man is usually looking out for themselves as a survival instinct. We do bad thing sbecause we feel that it may give us the edge over some one else

Uuuuummmm, I hope it was clear from my first posting that I was being EXTREMELY CRITICAL of the Old Testament....

Y'know I pointed those chapters and verses out so you could USE them to debate apologists.

Oh yes, that was perfectly clear.
And thanks for pointing out specific chapters.
I'm too lazy myself to search for the blatantly ridiculous parts.

Fair nuff. I would say the passages are more contradictory than ridiculous.

I know I have posted this link before, but it's well worth a look: The Brick Testament
The bible, mostly old testament, in lego. Hours of entertainment.

“I wish you wouldn’t keep appearing and vanishing so suddenly; you make one quite giddy!”
“All right,” said the Cat; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone.
