Having seen him and his missus interviewed a cpl of times, I wouldn't be surprised if she had something to say about taking a pay cut and moving from London to Birmingham.
Could be wide of the mark, but mightn't be either.

I think you're right,I think he's been badly advised at key points in his career. Surely he would get a post career pundit job, although he's not the most eloquent speaker.

I think alot of it is to do with him wanting to stay in London, as well as not having to live in Birmingham

Personally I don't rate him, i think he's rubbish. For the national team I'd much prefer to see Doyle with maybe someone supporting in the hole. Or play Shane Long alongside him when we're playing the likes of Liechtenstein, San Marino, England, Macedonia etc. There seems to be a lot of dead wood in our team right now like Keane, Kilbane and Andrews as well as some absolute rubbish like McShane, St Ledger and McGeady. At least we have some good prospects coming through though. Guys like Coleman, McCarthy, Clarke and Fahey should be given a proper chance.

I agree to a point, Shane long can do a decent job at international level but really has to be tetsed more
Agree Coleman, McCarthey Clarke Fahey Wilson Cunnigham should be given more roles
Even Gibson could do a decent job in midfield
