They do crash a lot just dont do as much damage as male drivers

That's true ... statistically women are more likely to have an accident but at much lower speeds than men. Women's accidents tend to be clipping a pillar when parking, a tip when applying make up in traffic, etc. whereas men (esp. under 30) tend to crash at higher speeds thereby causing more damage. Hence, even though women are more likely to have an accident, the severity of the typical male accident is greater resulting in higher premiums for men.

This isn't an attempt to be provocative btw ...

Well put. Basically men make a MUCH bigger mess than women, just less frequently.
