I'm not the most prolific poster but I have gotten involved in some entertaining and some fairly heated discussions and somehow I managed to avoid actually verbally insulting people. With only the text of a post sometime the "nuance" can be lost and any one who posts on any kind of social network knows that this is why the whole thing flames up so often. You might have a good PM banter with Debest but I don't so I can only take what I see at face value. I know sense of humour can vary from person to person but some of the "salty banter" I have seen here is witless garbage to be perfectly honest and please understand that in saying that i have to say I am the most foul talking persons I KNOW, but it has to be face to face where expression and intent can be guaged.

So no I don't think the moderators are doing a bad job at all. Anyone taking offence at censure should just be a man about it and take it on the chin and learn and stop actin like a child who had their dodie taken off 'em. I've had one infraction, one review censored and a couple of posts deleted or heavily censored. I took the time to think about them and write them but what was my reaction?? I said "I beg your pardon" to the moderators. No harm no foul.

Actually I shouldnt have mentioned the chap individually, I don't know him at all but he semed to be a popular poster, I really was just making an observation in general terms, not trying to score points off any individual.

TBH I haven't been following who is or isn't banned or why - the whole concept of banning people from what is an adult forum strikes me as frankly ridiculous. This is a 'virtual community' - if I don't like something someone I've never met has written I can't say that it would upset me greatly, nor would I expect anyone to get in a state over any of my opinions.

Fair enough, if people are making threats, either physical or to leak personal information about someone, or other more serious issues then, yes, they should be banned (and a permanent ban, not coming back under a pseudonym). If two adults decide to swap insults on a public forum ; I say let them. As I've already stated this is an adult forum - some friendly banter should be allowed (and in most cases that is all it amounts to).

There has been several references to cliques during this thread. While some posters obviously know each other better than others I have generally found all posters on this site to be friendly and helpful regardless of whether or not they are or are not part of a perceived clique. If you find alot of people disagreeng with your opinion then just maybe there isn't a clique at work but a more fundamental problem ...

Right, that's my tuppence worth for tonight but have to say I am glad to see Westside back (if indeed it is he) - can't say I always agree with him but I do find him to be one of the most original, insightful and funnniest posters on the site.

Just one thing i never added though. I was tempy banned which was due up on the 29th (which i thought was very unfair considering i was actually answering ppl and was provoked first and remember i didnt report any of the posts) but was perminently banned because i got ,i assume "nasty" with two managers on msn and said i would never post on that dump again or words to that effect (hard to remember with smirnoff and xmas cheer). I would have being "nasty" with the third as well but dont have that manager on msn so it is what it is. They thought i was nasty so banned me,i thought i was treated unfairly and got nasty. Pick which arse check is rosier. Thats life.

I have learned to redefine whats nasty to me as a result. From now out someone even asking me a q is nasty and asking me to do a favour is extremely nasty while calling me a name should result in being run over by a bus.

I wanted to add that so ppl can see why i was perminently banned.
