    Default Mac/windows techy help pls!!!

    Hi,
I was wondering weather anybody knows which windows to buy for my Mac. It has bootcamp on it, so I can upload windows onto it (it has an intel core 2 duo processor, its a mac os x version 10.5.8). Is the ordinary windows you can buy online for non mac computers fine????
Also, which parallel software do you think I should use (to run on mac and windows at the same time) pls?
    thx guys in advance
    xxx PW
ps.: pls talk in Layman's terms, as I'm not completely useless, but I don't have a degree in IT

I don't use Macs as I live in a PC world but if one must use a Mac you can Duel boot it with any 32bit Windows, (any 7 except basic is good), as for running it virtually within the mac i'd use VMware Fusion. I use VM to run windows within a Linux box and it's easy.
Here are a couple of articles to get you started..

Nick, any version of Windows will do. Just avoid Vista, it is a complete crap OS. Partition your hardrive, load Windows on the partitioned section and run it as normal. If you like you can also use a system called Parell, which allows you to switch between your Mac OS X and your Windows OS on the fly. Now for the burning question, why the hell would you want to put Windows on your lovely Mac?

    Ok, This may sound stupid....
So I upload lets say windows 7 32 bits or better (but not the basic), then I go for this VM system right? So windows is not included in the VW..... (this is the stupid bit lol).... just trying to save time, so I don't need to read every little bit....
I'm a woman and like to lie on my back and get the man to do the job lol......
Also what virus program do you recommend... I hate norton!!! Something not too pricy, but mega safe!!!

I need it as some silly sites make programs, which can only be used with windows (Yahoo is one of them!!!)

    thx peeps...
    this was very helpful!

    Macs rule!!!!

of course you can run window on them!! but the windows side can get viruses so be careful there, even though it won't effect the mac side.

VM Ware fusion is the easiest way to go if you already have bootcamp, I use parallels and find it good but it's not as easy upgrade from bootcamp to it.
