    Have read all the Ian Rankin books which included the Inspector Rebus series. Very addictive!
    Wish I had read them in order though!

    A lot of Asimovs works(the foundation series especially) a genius who invented the three laws of robotics(check out I Robot)....but i think im the only one on here that finds this impressive...or another one i would recommend would be "The Mothman Prophecies" by John Keel, dont know if anything that occurred in it is true but its still an interesting read..

    Might nip out later and buy another.

    Anyone get any good books they'd recommend?
    Try:-
    King Rat - James Clavell (normal read);
    Tai Pan - James Clavell (long read);
    Shogun - James Clavell (long read);
    The Hobbit - JRR Tolkien (short read);
    Lord of the Rings - JRR Tolkien (long read-3 books).

    try "run rabbit run" by john updyke

    after reading it you realise that American authors post 1950 are so much better than people like martin amiss who are up their own arses with their own self importance.

    Assuming you enjoyed Stalingrad by Anthony Beevor you should try Young Stalin by Simon Sebag Montifiore,.
    Also Mr. Nice by Howard Marks is a great read.

    Carlos Ruiz Zafon (Spanish autor)
    -The Shadow of the Wind
    -The Angel's Game

    Literature Classics:

    W.F. Hermans (Dutch autor)
    -The Darkroom of Damocles

    Frank Martinus Arion (Dutch Caribbean autor)
    -Double Play

    I know some people will find it boring but I really like to read some Literature Classics.
