    Default Water from Scotland!!!!

    Just heard on the news that Scotland is sending water over to NI coz our watermains are leaking!
    Couple of points;
    Where were these people during the famine???
    And
    Would the north not accept water from the south in case its been blessed??

    I always thought that we should be in a position to export water considering the amount of it that falls down all year long!!

    Wrong again, thats another commodity that we have to import and pay for!

    Well, if the water infastructure in the country had been developed over the last decade or so then we would have plenty for export. Another case of the government doing sweet fa for the average man in the street.

    Interesting to see that John Gormley is refusing to do any interviews at the moment.

    We should give OPEC a run for their money.
    All the rainy nations should band together and set up their own cartel!

    That would be justice!

    The problem is not with the water mains, but with the crap quaility plumbing job on most domestic and non-domestic supply pipes. Most people don't know they have leaks at the moment, maybe when the house cracks or the ceiling caves in the might understand.

    I read somewhere that up to 40% of treated water is lost due leakage at normal times so god knows how much is being lost now!
