Or perhaps don't care since you haven't done anything? I really don't see why you should feel guilty if some stupid beeping thing goes off? The ones feeling guilty should be the staff and the inventors of crap that does this many false positives.

The tags from other shops can set off the alarms for example the ones from next set off the river island ones, which means u can buy something in one shop and walk out without setting off the alarm yet when you walk into another with goods already bought and paid for in another store the alarm can go off, was doing work in next for a while and it got so bad the staff started ignoring all alarms

Maybe I'm just a dozy bastard but I've innocently set an alarm or two off and didn't even notice or realise it was me who did it ! I've seen others do it as well and nobody bats an eye lid. I think they're like house alarms .... they can go off and scream away for ages while nobody even looks in their direction any more.
Actually I've just remembered another incident. After buying something somewhere the sales assistant failed to remove the electronic tag and I set the alarm off. I stopped, looked in the bag and found the tag. I waited for a security guard to come charging but nobody came. So I turned and walked away .... and then thought how the fuck am I going to get the tag off when I get home ? So I went back into the shop (alarm goes off again, no security guard) and believe it or not - the sales assistant I went up to to get the tag removed thought I was trying to pull a fast one. Wanted to see the receipt, checked the date and time of purchase in case I'd bought one earlier then came back for an easy steal by claiming the tag was left on and I was only wanting it removed. I couldn't believe it since not 3 minutes before I had paid her for it.
