Exclamation Are there any wine buffs here?

Do we have any wine buffs on E-I? I have heard of a few alright and I believe there is an escort out there with a very large collection of vintage wines. It takes me 11 minutes to 'turn' my collection ...... I believe it takes her at least 2 hours!!!!

Maybe I should start a wine club ....... tips on what's good and where to get it when it comes to market. Anyone interested?

It's all affected snobbery, like going to the opera or Mass and sitting at the front in your best clothes. A little old vintner lady in a Lippe winery once told me so - she also said the best wine for you is the one that you like the taste of the most.

95% of the the time I spent in Ireland was as a non-drinker,but I often got a kick out of buying wine for others, usually inexpensive wines that didn't cost an arm and a leg; My main criterion for buying wines was:'Joe Schmoo' had to like it, so usually I requested , or looked for 'friuity tasting Red wines , and anything other than Chardonny, and not be dry tasting for white wines. I especially liked to shop at a wine shop that was located in the Georges St. Arcade, kind of pricey at times, but carried a great Italian red wine that was well worth the extra money, especially for someone I was trying to impress. Dunnes stores down the road also had a really great selection of quality, inexpensive wines, but you needed to be knowledgable about wines to get it's true value; they sold an excellent French red rwine that only came out a certain time of the year, can't remember it's name, but I do remember often buying a French whiite wine, Sacrere, that had to be served chilled, and went over very well with the 'Schmoos' of the World
