Under the new rules i assume that Luthers winning video of the Nov Comp
inspirational Videos must be removed. This video contains a large amount
of Minors (school children). As the video was posted prior to new rule i
assume he will escape sanction. Surely E-I cannot be seen to be giving
prizes for entries into competitions which they deem to be breaking their
rules.We are constantly told how rules are applied even handed so now
we shall see. If this is left then all others posted prior to the rule must
also be left. I assume something like a music video of shall we say the
Jackson five is now taboo

this is my fault 100% and nobody else's. I overlooked the matter. Im comp czar and it was down to me to make sure the rules are kept there and i failed to do that. Not out of badness or nastiness or anything but oversight.

In all honesty, a comp to me is supposed to be a fun issue. Nothing more and nothing less than that. When i ask for a comp of A, B or C im not exactly looking for rules being broken unless glaringly obvious and a vid of a inspirational guy giving a speech and inspiring a class of students is not exactly ,to me anyway, child abuse or pedophilia or a severe breech of the rules. Nonetheless it was down to me to make sure rules were enforced and at the end of the day i didnt do it 100%

I mean An dons vid of free hugs has minors in it and an don should be banned? Eh nope. It was filmed in city streets. Luther im sure had no intentions of putting a vid of minors being inspired on the site. I asked for an inspirational vid and i got one. He did what any normal person would do. In fact id be worried about him if he had to say to himself "i wonder is this vid acceptable or not" as it s not normal along the lines of a comp anyway.

We have had yotube vids, music vids etc put up here and im sure minors have being in some. Film vids and again im sure minors have being in some. Are all of these ppl checking like lasers for minors?

My own perspective of this us its the context of which minors are in the context of which minors are in the vids. If i saw a thread with a q about escorts or say a sex thread and i saw a pic of a minor or child then i wouldnt be too keen but a comp? Rules are rules though.

We all fuck up from time to time, and to be honest, this should have been picked up by one of the managers and moderators anyway. When Ber talked about innocent avatars being removed, he was referring to a ball I dropped, but I didn't quit my job over it.

Please could you reconsider?

Glad we cleared that up, as for the commonsense part as regards totally innocent avatars and pics in the past they have been
removed. If i was looking for examples of commonsense this is deff not the place i would come to.
So in fairness this has either to be a blanket ban or not atall as ure idea on what constitutes common sense and other peoples will
greatly differ.

I just can't see what this rule on videos is trying to achieve - it's introducing a rule to solve a problem that doesn't exist on this forum..
Would it not be more practical to adopt a common sense approach rather than a blanket ban..
