That's the question. I can presume only that, as I have said before, those defending the situation and getting abusive even about its discussion have a vested interest in high prices. The logical conclusion is that we have escorts and pimps replying. No rational punter would support higher prices.

Yawns. Well, look at it this way. If I was an Irish lady, having to deal with the threat of being exposed every day, double panic every time I met a client, in case it was cousin Feargal, and palpitations every time the telephone rang, I would want triple money and your CV first.

As it is you have a choice. You can also ring up and propose your er, proposal. After that is is time to climb off that soapbox.

I am familiar with the book(s) but the case study does not explain (never mind perfectly) why only Irish girls have clients that are not price sensitive which is what you are implying. I can undertand the use of price as a discriminator - that makes sense. What I fail to understand is how this can be an overwhelmingly Irish phenomenon. In fact that has really been my core question - not why do some charge more than others but why are the Irish as a group so expensive. Do they really have something over and above the rest or is it simply that like the rest of Irish businesses in recent years they are so used to exorbitant prices they can't help themselves.

The case study I was referring to was based on an American gal working in the states, who realised that there was a degree of price insensitvity for the services she offered and the higher the price she charged meant that she was booked for longer appointments. I have raised the case study to gently suggest that your observations are not unique to Irish girls as Freakonomics have already observed and studied it in Chicago, it is an interesting topic as they have sold a lot of books off the back of it! I know you are familiar with the titles I'm not sure you have read the book though, I do recommend it def worth a read :-)
