Hi
We have resubmitted the following 2 to IT to see if they can be easily changed:
1. When an escorts profile is no longer active it currently displays the message "This listing is Currently Suspended". Lookin at this to this be changed to "Not Currently Advertising".
2. When an escorts profile is no longer active, that the ability to review this escort is still available for 2 weeks after the advert is no longer active.
I will update you once i know.
Thanks

Thank you
Any ideas how long it will take?![]()

I'm honestly starting to think the techie guys on this site are a couple of patricia's relations that everybody says are good with computers and she's afraid to fire them in case it causes ructions in the family. Your proposals are basic stuff VJ and if they don't get changed and it's not because of the relations then it can only be one other thing, the recession has hit E-I harder than we suspected and they are on stop with the IT firm for not paying their bill![]()

There is something that can be done about this right now with no changes to the software on the E-I site.
I have just made a posting here asking the question about suspended listings. In the message, I have given an answer.
It is not a complete solution and we really do need a proper fix from E-I but if the site admins would care to make that message a sticky, or post a better version and make that sticky then we would at least have some statement that folks could see that would help.
Yes. I do.
A few weeks ago, I was working on a client's software when I spotted a problem. Everything was working just fine as it was but, if one piece of text had been changed for another, the whole system could very well have fallen to pieces in a bad way indeed.
I have seen many other situations in which a small change, which everyone "knew" would never be a problem has turned out to have a completely unexpected knock on effect.
Even the smallest change needs to go through a comprehensive testing cycle before going live.
I know another escorting site (not in Ireland) which has a habit of losing a major part of its functionality on a monthly basis. They could do with more testing.
Now that does not mean that the "listing suspended" change should not be made. It should have been made months ago. If the E-I IT folks were on the ball, they would have made that change when another bigger update was underway and then there would have been no need to run an extra test cycle for a tiny change.

According to our internal Intranet, IT had made both these changes by 9:39 PM this evening ;-P
