Let us be governed by Berlin or London or wherever because you can be damn sure they wont make such a complete ballsup of it like we have ourselves.

......whos round is it, anyone got a light ?
The Irish Government are playing a long game.

Yes they are in crises and yes they do need money to shore up the Banks.
Do they say so - of course not.
Will they receive the finance - of course they will

The Government knows the importance of their government, especially after Greece.

Will the Irish Government fail - of course not.
The Euro region is too important for a small region/country o fail!
It is not in the greater good!.

Yep I think you're completely right.
They will take the money of course.
Just because we're inviting the IMF on our doorstep doesn't mean it's all doom and gloom. As much as I hate to admit it, that tw@ Michael O'Leary made a pretty good point of how Britain needed the IMF in ..1976 (i think) So it isn't all bad, it's just a necessity sometimes. All we can do is wait and see.
Sceptics point to the situation with the IMF and Brazil and how they were far better off without them.. Err yeah but it coincided with the discovery of a wealth of natural resources in that country.

Anyways yeah I agree with you.. now whose got a boat so we can go looking for oil?

The Irish goverment has failed a long time ago. They don't know how big trouble the Irish banks are in, they have made no measures to stop this, they have to get outside help to actually find out how much trouble this country is in. They have been lying about the troubles the country is in, ofcourse they have failed, it is not even up for debate. Only thing up for debate is how badly they have failed.
The amounts being bandied around for the bailout is between 100bn and 140bn euro. At around 5% interest rate. It looks great for the future, never mind paying this off, just having to pay off the interest will cripple the country.

Those with a wit of intelligence emigrated in the 19th century, in the 1950s, 60s and 80s and are going again now....just the gombeens were left to run the show....the stroke merchants, the wink and a nod parish-pump primers, the brown envelope brigade, those far sighted soldiers of a doomsday destiny.

I was watching a very funny speech by Noel Dempsey at the 2009 Fianna Fail Ard fheis on Youtube yesterday. He stated, that unlike the bankers who have ruined the country, Oliver Cromwell was at least not motivated by personal gain. Noel, God bless him, must be suffering from amnesia, because he failed to mentioned that Fianna Fail politicians, developers and bankers had a simbiotic relationship for decades. While the golden circle fiddled, Ireland burned and now the time has finally arrived for the plebians to do their patriotic duty and don the green jersey and take one up the arse for Ireland.

I see David Cameron is willing to commit loans of 6 billion to Ireland because Ireland is of strategic importance to the British economy. Now by all accounts Betty Windsor will be touring southern Eire next year. I suggest that Biffo and the other Brian put a proposition to David Cameron. If he is willing the transmit the 6 billion loan into a 6 billion gift, Betty should be allowed to remain here.......I mean would'nt it be better to deal with somebody who speaks the Queen's English rather then a bunch of Johnnie Foreigners in Brussels or Berlin. If you want an example of the damage that can done to this nation by those who lack a comprehensive command of the English language, look no further than congested Cowen or da..da..dat Bertie from Drumcondra.......it's bleedin cold in dis closet lads....where did I put me feckin anorak?
