1. Depends on the size of the trees....saplings r much eazier.......conifers are a bitch to plant, especially in clay ridden ground.

2. Depends which County Council they work for....i'd say Cork wd be the longest to dig ur half hole......no record setters down there!!

On second thoughts......there's no need to dig any holes.........just let all the heavy artics do the job and then the council will be saved the work.
