Thread: Who can lead us out of depression?

The IMF? Maybe, but I fear they will bow to eu and lose the corporate tax advantage we have. We're in deep shit but I really do fear for the generations to follow. Emigration will be the only avenue for the truly gifted and ambitious.
I think someone with balls, backbone and a gift for opportunism is needed. Dare I say someone like Michael O'Leary.

The corporate tax advantage is why we are in deep shit. The sooner it goes the better.

“All right,” said the Cat; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone.

We have the largest public sector deficit in the EU because we have the lowest corporate taxes. If you don't collect taxes then either you can't spend money or you run a huge deficit.

Deficit is expenditure minus revenue. We aren't collecting revenue.

we could be colleting too little or spending too much. Whichever way you want to look at it.

For me it's spending too much and not taxing enough people who work. To make up for those who will be brought into the tax net you lower social welfare.

    Now who will do that?
