We had something like this recently, "Respect for Escorts on E-I".
It's only good manners to treat escorts with respect, I've always been polite and mannerly and friendly and so have all the escorts I've had the good fortune to meet. BUT, there are always arseholes. You meet them in the street, it's not just an escort thing, there are a lot of ignorant thugs around and unfortunately they can make life unpleasant for the people they encounter. I hope on the escort front that they are just a minority, so keep the heads up girls and I hope all your clients are gentlemen like Mousey.

So Rebecca, I do not mind what security questions you ask. Politeness and civility come first in my book.

unfortunately you don`t need to be an escort to be raped, robbed or treated badly by a man...there is so many men out there who have no respect unforunately for women in many ways... it is a sad fact.. though many years ago women took this abuse without batting an eyelid... I am so glad things are changing and women are saying no more are we second class citzens...but also the sad fact there is as many men who get treated the same.. for some reason some members of the human race are freaks who get off in treating others so disrespectfully.. but sure as long as there is decent people in this world hopefully we can battle against these people.. so stay safe and be careful...xxxx

You never know, but I certainly hope none of the people here are the ones doing this. But I think ER's post wasn't really directed to them anyway. It was more to help the rest of us to understand.

Sadly as always it is the terrible behaviour of the minority that affects the majority. It really makes me sick just reading about it. Recession may bring out the worst in people and drive them to do stupid things out of desperation for financial reasons, but there is absolutely no excuse for recession or other reasons to be the cause of abuse to women.

I find it all too easy to believe that escorts are being attacked and abused more often here. From what I've seen in the last couple of years the worst in Irish people is coming more to the surface. Road rage, illegal dumping, vandalism are things I'm getting used to seeing. I think it was always there and the problem of course is that these bastards always go for the soft target. I dread of reading or hearing on the news some day of a serious attack on an escort. When I see these posts I question my own conduct and whether I should be doing this at all. Looking at it objectively I think escorting is a very dangerous job to be in - the escorts are just too vunerable to these predators. Admittedly it is easy to forget at times that you are dealing with somebodys daughter. But I've never forgotten that I'm dealing with a human being who is sharing their most intimate self with me. I've noticed a few times that some escorts, usually the better ones, give a small piece of information about themselves. Whether this is deliberate or not I don't know, but I think it's a good way to remind a punter that an escort is a person. Of course, the dangerous types don't listen and don't care.
And it's pointless talking about bad laws forcing girls to work on their own. Escorts and punters alike have to examine their own lifes and decide whether to be involved or not. It might not be fair that we have decisions forced on us, but the laws won't change. Punters will always be afraid of being found out and the escorts will always be vunerable - to attacks, arrest, persecution and abuse. I wish it wasn't so - but it is.
For my own part , I've being spending too much and I'm finding the experience to be more of an anticlimax. I'm not saying I'm giving up altogether but I'm definitely cutting back and I'm going to stick to those escorts I've already seen - assuming they'll see me. But it won't take much to make me stop altogether. And I fear it is only a matter of time.
