I made a decision that not everyone agreed on, especially Dom of course, but rather than wait for a simple explaination, I feel that (just as I did initially), he acted on impulse. I'm not afraid to be seen as changing my mind. I'm not a dictator.
A polite message and an alternative solution would have sufficed, and to be honest I don't really care much for a public slate, as while all this is going on in the forefront of the forums, I'm still in the background, dealing with real issues such as reporting numbers and details for sex offenders, rapists and stalkers, trying to deal with disputes regarding reviews, making sure that people submitting fake pictures are not getting away with it, making sure that fake reviews aren't going through, etc. Yes, this is all part of my job and I'm paid to do it, but consider this: do I do this just for the money, or do I do it so that I can play a part to try to help people out in a world gone mad?
Let's summarise this, shall we? I deleted a picture and asked Dom politely to choose an alternative (and have admitted that this was the wrong way round). I didn't warn him or infract him for being offensive, nor did I get some kind of strange feeling of empowerment. I removed a picture and offered to rectify it. To be honest, that's it really.
