    he was well past his best when he died and not half the talent mc cartney was...this according to some gobshite on newstalk yesterday..any thoughts from ppl that followed them?

    I think they are talented in their own special ways. After splitting from the Beatles in 1969, MacCartney created an album called 'Ram'; this was unique because he recorded himself playing every instrument for each song and merged the sounds together to create a complete track. Genuis! This album actually ended up topping 'Let it Be' at number one at the time.

    they are talented in there own way for sure.....wasen't ozzy osbourne a big time john lennon fan he seems to have the john lennon image these days

    Yes, he was. Lennon did actually inspire the Oz Man. He was a massive Beatles fan, mate

    yes of course when you listen to some of ozzy's slow tracks like dreamer you can see that he was influenced by john lennon just playing it now cheers sam

    Here is a link to an article I came across some time ago.
    It gives the background to a line in John Lennons song"Nobody Told Me".

    John Lennon said, "There's UFO's over New York" - remembering his UFO experience on August 23, 1974 - National john lennon | Examiner.com

    Then again maybe it was the drugs.

    When he was seeing May Pang (his secretary), he was on a massive drug binge. He split with Yoko for a couple of weeks and went on the infamous 'Lost Weekend' when he cannot recall anything, so it was probably the drugs, mate! LOL!
