Well shows how much you know "kidkool", because Patricia has very often spoken to the media and so have numerous escorts. The media doesn't want to listen to the escorts' side of things. Or they say things like "some escorts say that it's a lifestyle choice, well I don't believe that".

In fairness I've never seen or heard from her, maybe she is doing her part but cant say I recall seeing a televised interview with an escort or founder of this site or others promoting safe escorting on any tv station in recent years!

Other ways round it too, what bout starting marches or protests for legalised prostition and safer working conditions.. a full on fight against the current laws!!

Every week on here there is a post slating the government and or ruhuma about their "work".. now I'm not saying I agree with a single word they said.. but I will say this..

You will never see the Nandi's of this world posting here, perhaps if you did and they spelled out the reality's of their day and you would not be so dismissive of what Ruhama are trying to do. I dare say they picked the worse one they could find but they did not go anywhere near as much detail as exists when you bother to look deeper so they cannot be accused of hyping it up, if anything they played it down compared to above link.

The fact is that the news presents people with what they want to hear. There is an established narrative that they follow.
In order to present a story to people on TV or the newspaper it has to be completely dumbed down. If you, I or Patricia were to go on the radio advocating safe escorting, to the average person you would sound like you were asking to legalise child abuse. It wouldn't follow the narrative and for that reason alone you wouldn't get any airtime.

You talk about legalised prostitution, well actually escorting is not illegal in this country. What is illegal is brothels.
Prostitution is in fact illegal nearly everywhere.
The latest fad is criminalising punting, which has come from Sweden. Apparently it really works to shut down independent escorts. It has found a lot of support in so called "liberal" circles because instead of arresting the women which sounds bad you are arresting their livelyhood, who are indefensible evil rapists.
Don't be surprised if a law criminalising the clients of escorts is introduced in Ireland. I expect us to be WAY ahead of the UK on this. It is exactly the kind of thing the politicians love to promote. Sorry the economy is fucked, but at least we eliminated the escort industry - result!

I know that escorting is currently not illegal, exactly why an "escort" could happily take part in a march or protest.. you just proved my point!! fair enough the point can be made that that people would prefer it to remain private.. if thats the case then stop complaining about what ruhuma have to say.. unless people are willing to stand up and be counted just let them have their say and move on cause at the end of the day as long as the person themselves and the escort or escorts they visit know the truth it shouldnt matter!!!
