Im trying to find link for you Nice because i had an issue like this a few months ago with a business client. this is the jist of what i got from yahoo

It is not illegal to tape a phone call - recorded conversations are broadcast on radio stations daily.

However, if you record a conversation secretly and then want to use this as evidence later on against someone, in a court case for example, this is illegal.

What sort of conversations are they? Only in special circumstances could you do anything like it. I think those would be after having been given implicit or explicit permission to broadcast them. Give me concrete examples from memory or as far as I'm concerned COMPLETELY AND ABSOLUTELY ILLEGAL.

It is technically illegal to even record them for personal use without the other party being aware of it being recorded. Even if you never listen to them yourself it's illegal.

Why is it that half the time I say something in favour of escorts or against some of these tossers in the media that lots of people are coming in defending them and saying that you couldn't sue them even when it's there in black and white that it's completely illegal???

Even in the recently released Mel Gibson tapes they are considering suing him over them. Could Mel Gibson's Ex Get in Trouble Over Tapes? - E! Online The reason they mightn't sue is probably because Gibson mightn't be bothered going to court over something like that and is afraid it might hurt his reputation.

I cant disagree with you because i cant find link , im only telling you what my brief told me and i won the case . As for the wiki link there is no reference to ireland on it and has you well know we have some mad laws here . By the way how stupid do you think newstalk would be to let them selves open to a legal challenge
