Never done it myself, don't know anyone that has (at least I don't think I do, anyway). I'd say it's a sure way to complicate a relationship to the point where break-up becomes inevitable. I won't dismiss the possibility that there are people out there who can handle it, and do swing without letting it ruin their relationship, but the 'terms & conditions' would have to be put out there and fully understood by all of those involved before anything happened-- maybe then it could go on without making this too awkward-- but I couldn't say that with any real degree of certainty...
