Because as several of you , including yourselfs have posted, you are fed up of all the wasteful threads that are created, doing the same things. I am trying to take away some of this from the boards, so it can be cleared up. Wouldnt you agree that all this has been debated enough already?

My main issue is the arbitrary nature of the mods behaviour and their complete unaccountability for any of their decision. Why were threads discussing issues deleted and 2 users receive infractions for "not dropping it". How come Westside could get away with sending threatening IMs and start threads threatening physical violence and still remain a member of the board? A lot of non-mods here have been banned for less why don't we see a bit of consistency when it's the mods behaviour that is at fault?

The issues that you mention here, are being looked at internally at EI. One of the reasons for myself and samlad being brought in was to try and build up some consistency in the way the boards are being managed. These are issues to be addressed internally and they will be. As with everything it takes time ... myself and samlad are new to this site, and need to learn too as we go along , and yes we have made mistakes at times, but have done our best to rectify them and ensure that people are happy when it has gone wrong.
One suggestion I would make is that people PM me and samlad if they feel that they have been treated wrongly and it is down to us to deal with these complaints and take action where necessary.

I accept that the threads that have been deleted, were probably done so too quickly and the infractions that were given have been removed.

The issue specifically with Westside has been dealt with internally, and you will already seen that Pat has posted about his decision to stand down as a full mod, but will stay as Competition Czar.

Again if people get abusive PMs then they should be reported and they will be dealt with in the relevant way, whether it is a standard member or a moderator. We want to ensure that every rule is implemented in a fair and consistent way to everyone, but on occasions things will slip through the net, and again there is a way for this to be brought to the attention of myself and samlad.

I hope this goes some of the way to address your concerns, but please remember we are all human, and make mistakes, but we try our utmost to sort things out when they are made.

The abusive IMs were reported and the thread threatening violence was public for all to see. Why is Westside not subject to the same sanctions that other posters have been subject to for the same behaviour?

Also, I appreciate your reply Jackie but with respect, it's the same rhetoric we've been hearing here for years. "We'll discuss it internally and come up with solutions". We have yet to see any of those solutions and I'm not going to hold my breath this time.

The infractions were given in haste, and shouldnt have been given which is why they were reversed, as there wasnt a rule broken. The actions that took place last night all round caused things to escalte and get out of hand.
When infractions / warnings are given, there should be full explanation for them. I can only apologise for what happened.

I think if anyone has problem with something they should keep it to pm's no point bringing it on to the open forum and getting nowhere fast...just my opinion

This may have been the case, but as mine and samlads roles, we are managing the mods, and I can assure you that we will come up with solutions. You will have to take my word on that for the moment, but give things a week or so and I hope you will be able to see that we have fullfilled our promises to you.
