I think he should have given the apology without then going on to talk about the broader issue of problems in Northern Ireland over the last 40 years and that there has been fault on both sides. It took away from the apology for me some that he didn't stay on topic and leave it at acknowledging the wrongdoing on and surrounding Bloody Sunday.
There are many points of view, all are valid. I seen Britain suffer greatly from terrorism on its shores.
I believe 'they' would far rather have given over the 32 counties back in the twenties. What have they gained?
