What good would that achieve? At the end of the as Luther said, we are members of this site. We arent E-I staff here. We are just helpers helping out the site. Again this isnt a private club so anyone can post their feelings or opinions on any of the topics here

And therein lies the problem. Mods need to be 100% impartial and it is impossible for you to be after years of building up opinions about other posters....
Sure, remember that period where mods were actually deleting/censoring other mods posts??

I see your point but as most people will tell you we do our best to help keep this site running smoothly. We only delete posts if it falls outside the rules or we know it was meant to cause harm to someone or it was a previously banned user etc. We try and be impartial but at the end of teh day we are human too.

Yeah Doozer I do know that. Being a mod is a thankless and tough job, I certainly would not do it.
Like I said, it's just my opinion of what makes a good message board. I said when it was being discussed back then that it would adversely the site and (again in my opinion) it has.

I understand what your saying but at teh end of the day everyone mods included should be allowed post to voice their opinions. We dont want to be deleting posts etc or disrupting posts and only do it if it is deemed necessary. We like everyone else want to join in with all the banter that goes on here
Yes most succesful boards do not have mods who also post as part of the community. Especially if the mods are paid for their services

What does this have to do with anything Jack? Weather we are or arent does make any difference. We like everyone else are here of our own free will and not because we have to be. We post if we want and give our opinions if we want, the same way that any one of the other posters are free to question us or call us up on something.
If we just modded without posting here there may be no second chances given no reasons giving after a ban or infraction

i dont have any major objection moderators joining in on the forum.....but if you look at this forum here some of our busiest posters - and by a stretch at at that - are moderators. and getting back to the original point of this thread i think that any neutral person looking at it from the outside would think it is some sort of private club

We are busy posters but we also post in our own mod forum where our post count goes up. this is one reason why we have a high post count another is that we are usually here on the site a lot
