JUSTICE FOR AMANDA KNOX AND RAFFAELE SOLLECITO----INNOCENTS
I think this is a load of bollix.
Firstly we have a system to find trusted reviewers. This I can understand. A system maybe not quite exact, but a system none the less, to give Joe Soaps outside of this forum a help in choosing an escort based on a punters known experiences. But now we want to introduce a system that rates user’s posts, by the way encouraging members to compete in the quality of their contributions.
Ah FFS. I enjoy these boards; I enjoy taking the piss out of Debest. I enjoy making a faceless friend with most or disagreeing with others – but don’t ruin it by making it a competition. Why is it always so important to get that congratulation, that Luther trophy? Why can’t we exchange our views and experiences and more importantly our jokes and have a bit of crack without someone having to grade them. I’m sorry guys but I’m losing interest here. These boards are becoming more and more cliquish and I think it will put off general users. This is a community chat area. Let’s chat. If you want to compete post it in the Established Members area which as far as I can see is not quite working as well as we would like.
That’s my rant..
Yeah, a big problem in life is people judging something by the PERSON that says it and their status rather than objectively considering the merit of the thing itself. This just adds to it and turns things into a popularity contest. If you feel the need to look over a person's posts it's very easy.
What I was saying earlier about supressing unpopular views isn't about anonymity for the person who added/took from the reputation, it's about playing to the crowd overall. People are going to be less likely to say views they know are unpopular, so it's just turning things a bit more into a mob mentality.
I added to your reputation points James Cork, which makes a lot more ironic sense than adding to anon361's reputation.

What's your point???
Is it not just nice to be nice sometimes???
Make people feel that they are wanted or noticed???
Make people feel, if in even some small way that someone somewhere has noticed their contribution???
To be felt, even in anomisity, that people notice???
You know James, I'm happy for you that you don't feel the need for such, but perhaps other do, and if they do, then I'm happy to try, in some small way to make them feel like they are part of something, however sad that may seem to you..........

What a load of dick! I didn't realise we were playing Red Dead Redemption. I am perfectly capable of judging the merit of someones opinion without having to refer to their reputation.
p.s. I like to kick babies. Negative reputation?
Actually could everyone give me negative reputation; I think I'd like the infamy
It not about "having to" Luther. What's the point of it? So someone has good reputation and someone has bad reputation. What does it matter? Is it really going to change the merit, or your view on the merit of their opinion. Surely the content of their comment is what's important?
There is nothing to gain from it. It doesn't have a purpose.
