Now that the thanks button has gone Jamescork sent me a PM asking can I highlight the reputation button again, he's such a rep whore (his words the filthy langer) I just couldn't suffer to watch him fall to pieces and run off and get himself banned again without his daily fix of checking his rep points..
I just wanted to make everyone aware of the Member Reputation feature on these boards. We are all familiar with the Thanks button but very few seem to use the Reputation star (illustration below). The Member Reputation system allows you to leave comments about one anothers' posts, and thereby contribute to their overall 'reputation'. There are several levels one can achieve and it would help new users to distiguish the established / trusted members from the messers and trolls. Similar to the Trusted reviewer badge but solely controlled by all members as they are the ones that decide whether to add or take away from a members reputation.
You can view a members reputation by hovering your mouse icon over the small square box under the users name:
REPUTATION LEVELS
User is infamous around these parts -99999
User can only hope to improve -50
User has a little shameless behaviour in the past -10
User is an unknown quantity at this point 0
User is on a distinguished road 10 (new users start with this level)
User will become famous soon enough 50
User has a spectacular aura about 150
User is a jewel in the rough 250
User is just really nice 350
User is a glorious beacon of light 450
User is a name known to all 550
User is a splendid one to behold 650
User has much to be proud of 1000
User has a brilliant future 1500
User has a reputation beyond repute 2000
So I hope you all start to use it as it's hard to remember all usernames so a quick look at your reputation would give others an indication of the quality of your previous posts without having to go looking through them!!
Please don't tell me they are going to blame the site slowdown problems on the 'thanks button use'
