Hi gentlemen,
I will soon be forced to double book as the number of time wasting no shows are climbing through the roof!!
This leaves genuine clients dissappointed and us out of pocket.
I have had some lovely genuine clients whom ring to cancel as soon as they can but most just do not show up.
Can anyone advise on this??

Whatever you do, don't double book, as you could end up with a bad reputation before you really get going.
If you are not sure about a punter, don't accept the booking. If you try to encourage bookings through pm it might help to cut down the time wasters.

Let's split your no-show clients into three groups and think about how to deal with them.

The Jerks

These guys have no intention of turning up. But even if you accept a booking, all is not lost. When you accept an advance booking, tell the client that you need them to send you a text between one hour and thirty minutes ahead of time to confirm that they are on the way. A well organized jerk could still send you the text but how many are that well sorted? If you do not get that text, you can choose between accepting short term bookings or sending a text to the client to query if they are coming.

The Nervous

You probably think that these guys are inexperienced but even your very best, most regular client may get nervous. Perhaps he has just had a really bad experience elsewhere and needs you to help him get back into his comfort zone. If you accept a phone booking, send an SMS back right away to confirm the time, say thank you and give the approx location. Do the same over pm or email too if that is how the client contacted you. It is a personal touch that will reassure and encourage a nervous client. When you get the text saying that the client is on the way, again, send a reply to say thanks for the message and to confirm that you are ready. I know that that part is not so easy if you are working alone and with another client but just do the best that you can.

The Genuine

A client may make a booking in good faith and be unable to turn up. He may also be unable to contact you by voice and unsure of whether or not to send a text if your listing says "No withheld numbers and no SMS" as many do. But if you have already sent that confirmation text and asked him to text you when he is on the way then he is much more likely to let you know if he cannot make it.


So, to sum it all up:

When you accept a booking ask for a message from the client to say that he is on the way.

Immediately send a reply to say thanks for the booking and give an approx location.

If you get the message to say that the client is on the way then, if you can, send back a message to say that you will be ready.

If you don't get that message then you can either send a message to ask if they are coming or decide to accept alternative bookings.


These things will not eliminate the problem but they may reduce it to manageable proportions.


It's also nice for your good clients. Getting a message that says something like "When you arrive, call me from outside the Ferryman pub" tells me that I am visiting an escort who has got her act together. Similarly, getting a response to my text saying that I am on the way is great, I am then much more certain that the escort will be there and, by eliminating that worry, you make it more likely that I will enjoy my time.

Even if not requested, I have started sending "I'm on the way" messages an hour ahead of advance bookings in the hope that an escort who will be unavailable will at least have the common decency to send a message to say sorry I cannot make it. None ever do though.

Sure to be sure this has been a accurance for me and well i am thinking at the time he sounds fine no bother next ding ding ,and you refuse someone after.
Right so its a pure waste and i feel a right muggette ,
PM yes advertised already discount but its a bummer not alot of people take you on but no getting me down once biten twice shy Laddies and maybe i will try double bookings but i dont like too ,but lately i have said for them text if no sure hour or so before Meeting but life goes on pure pain doing yah head in but lassies arise to it this will always happen x

One thing I hate doing is cancelling and I've only done it once.
If I make the effort of ringing a girl it's because I've put the effort in to check the site read her profile and reviews, see if she does the favourites I'm after etc. Then I'll make sure my schedule is free so I can then go visit.
But when I did cancel I gave the girl and hour and a half notice, (Emergency call out in work), I still felt that she thought I was a time waster.

Triple and QUADRUPLE bookings just to fill ONE time slot?! I know it's been said many times that time wasters are a serious problem in Ireland, but THAT SERIOUS??? I can't believe the problem is that bad, but if this is what it takes just to fill one appointment time-slot, then I think this really illustrates just how wide spread the problem really is here. Sorry to know that the ladies in the industry have to deal with so much of this kind of crap working in Ireland.
