men will put on weight on the belly if they don't exrcise it and women will put weight on there arse the same way .............you got to exrcise to stay in shape so get into shape guys
This is a handy little gadget, but i prob wouldnt be saying that only for the fact im slap bang in the middle with a value of 21.4
Cant really be that accurate when it doesnt account for the distribution of muscle and bone mass in your body
It has nothing to do with exercising the belly. It has to do with the fact that its the largest areas that gain the flab first followed by the smallest. They way to loose the flab is not so much exercising the belly but cutting the calories and / or burning more calories by exercising the largest muscle groups. This is why cardio machines are all pretty much leg and hip and /or back. The largest areas place the body under most stress and as a result burn more calories and get the hearts rate up more as well.
All sit ups do for 99% of the population is damage their spine. The abs are a secondary stabilizer of the core along with the obiques and intercostals (waist). The primary stabilizer is a group called the Poas. Heres where the problem starts. Because the Poas are the dominant muscle they will contract first but the poas muscles (one on either side of the spine) inserts around the L5 vertebrae ,the last disc on the lower back and originates on the groin. When muscles contract they pull on their insertions. In this case the insertion is the spinal disc. The result is damage and eventually permanent damage. This is why most ppl complain of a stiff or sore low back after doing sit ups. The safest sit up is the standing cable crunch.
too much info?
Westside.
The correct way to work any of these muscles is by naturally finding it out ourselves in a natural way.
All these "machines" and "techniques" and procedures are nothing but an example of human's love of stupidity and love of following others and following instructions, being part of the latest fads.
You want abs? How about sitting without a back on your chair for extended periods. That will build up your abs in a really natural way.
Observe how the other great apes sit:
That is the natural sitting position we're all designed to sit in.
Of course by doing bullshit crackpot fad exercises that you would NEVER do in nature, bad stuff is going to happen eventually. Similarly, humans should eat nothing but raw food and when they don't... sooner or later bad stuff starts to happen.
