Tesco??? Don't over estimate what you think Tesco has done for keeping prices down and for competition in this counrty.........

Have a look at the abolishment of the grocery order which that lobbied to have removed as they said it kept prices falsely inflated, and what happened when it was abolishesd??? Fuck all except to allow them to sell some product, mainly drink as a loss leader to drive footfall which did piss all for the ordinary customer...........

Tesco and the like have been responsible for the closure of corner shops, family run business and local retailers the length and breath of the country.........

Here's a little something for you about tesco and their maeketing machine. This if fact, I'm not making this up, I've seen this with my own eyes and it's just and example..............

    Kelloggs crunchy nut cornflakes.............

    750g cost €3.53. That's €4.71 per kg..........

    1kg cost €5.15. That's €5.15 per kg...........

On the 1kg box it says "1kg best value pack"

Per kg, it clearly isn't the best value pack, but people will assume, because they are in Tesco, and it says it on the box, it must be the best value. 9 people out of 10 will pick up the bigger box thinking they are getting the best value for their family but they have just been cheated by the marketing machine, and had their trust taken advantage of by the very same Tesco...........

What a load of crap , Kelloggs is not a Tesco product, it is available to all vendors. The "Value" print is a Kellogs slogan.
If Tescos decide to discount the 750g packet well that is their prerogative.
The point is Tescos has been instumental in driving down retail food prices for the benefit of the vast majority.

As I said, this is an example, but it makes no difference if it's a Tesco product or not, they are still carrying, displaying and selling it. If it displayed a price on the box, could they sell it for a higher price???

    No...............

It's deception and they prey on the naivety of people............This is well known in retail circles.................

And again, don't be silly enough to think they have been instrumental in driving down retail prices. They were instrumental in removing what they said were the barriers to this, but it wasn't passed on to the consumer like they said it would be...........

They only think they drove down was the prices THEY paid.................

Ask the farmers why the price they are getting for milk now is the same as it was in the 80'.....................

Is the retail price the same???

    I don't think so............

That is a brilliant point Luther.

While the farmers were out there, toiling their lives away doing real work, these blaggards were trying to figure out ways of how to force farmers to try to sell their food as cheaply as possible. Driving down prices? It was more like market terrorism.

Food (like escorting) is one of the few true, real things that is worth anything in the world.

We're always hearing about how great it is to "drive down prices", let's not forget about the poor farming people who are trying to live on those prices. They are the people who built up the economy.

Often they foregoed a secondary school and college education to work on their farm, a REAL job. They're the ones who developed the methods to put food on the table today. And while they went out toiling all their lives, these other guys felt so highly of themselves with their big suits and their fancy business degrees, that they found themselves worth it to snooker the farmers out of all their money.

"Hurrrr... look at Paddy the peasant, just a farmer. It's an unskilled job, not like our jobs, We know all these fancy words Paddy doesn't know at all, that makes us more intelligent, hurrr, hurrr".

The farmers didn't know what hit them. They had no experience in litigation and trade unions and all the other shit that's made up by people in government. They also were also unable to start rioting etc., partly because they were so widely spread apart in the countryside.... and they are/were genuinely nice people anyway, close to nature.
