All violent crime should be punished by (painless) death. This includes fighting outside nightclubs.
Sorry, I'm not usually so fascistic, but scumbags really make my blood boil

Antisocial behavior has always been around, but when there are more resources there is a tendency for the anti-social behavior to stay more contained within certain environs, but now because of the lack of jobs, and the recession, it is branching out more into other areas as well. There will be more reports this year of purse snatching agains tourists and other crimes like this, because the tourist will go home, same with the increase of anti social behavior against escorts, we are mostly touring escorts, who just want to come work, earn our money and not raise our heads above the parapet. So, we are seen as an easy victim. It will get worse before it gets better, I am afraid.

RETURNING TO THE EMERALD ISLE SHORTLY

Repetetive anti-social convicts should be banished to Greenland to "chill-out".
See if they can colonise that mother fuckin barren land as well as they once did down in Oz !
I'd definitely say it's on the rise, as unfortunate as that is, and also have to agree with it being linked to joblessness, and generalised financial anxieties.
I'd worked part time at the weekends as a doorman in Dublin City Centre for a good bit, but finally had to give it up for good back in early fall of 2008. This was right around the time that the absolutely dire economic forecasts were starting to hit the headlines, and you could just feel a different sort of 'vibe' out on the streets. There was a lot more tension in the air, and people's frustrations really seem to come out when they've had a few scoops. Had to leave it (even though I REALLY could use the cash, it was my main source of punting money!) after 3 serious near-misses with getting into or breaking-up fights, and a co-worker having his nose broken by a guy that had been refused entry to a well-known bar on St. William St. I REPLACED him at that same bar the next weekend, and my co-worker and I nearly got into it with a group of 7 lads, got spit on by a homeless knacker woman, and got the head nearly eaten off me for refusing a drunk girl from entry-- and that was only THE FRIDAY NIGHT! Saturday was nearly as bad, and as I was making my way home that night, I'd decided I'd had enough, and gave the boss a ring on Monday letting him know I was done with it.
Far too much anti-social behaviour linked with drink and economic bad times, and it's actually led me to stop going out in Dublin almost completely. We can only hope for a turn around, but that might be a long time coming...
i dont think it is on the rise. Just more cameras around to capture it as it happens.
I'd say that's definitely a factor which contributes to the general awareness of the fact that anti-social behaviour certainly does happen, but I'd still say there's an increase recently due to the economic situation. It's a generally accepted statistical conclusion that there's a corellative increase in these kinds of occurances when economic conditions and prospects are bad.
No They are not and its only poorly educated reactionary morons that think otherwise
