No, if it's either of them it's an import. An export would mean something leaving the country. More exports is what we would like.
Listen, you're really not as clever as you think. What has the state to do with coming between you and an escort?! It's a personal exchange, it would be like like saying you can't swap a computer game without the government coming in and taxing you for it. Taxing an employee or a company is different because the state is supposed to give them something back for it. Maybe it makes some sort of sense, but why the hell would you want it?

whiteknight then felt a bit envious of all that money and came in with some stupid bullshit about how the state should make it illegal or tax it, and it'd be getting money for the lovely and immaculate government, just as he did before with his "theory".

Whiteknight111 does have a point. Touring escorts certainly do take money out of the country although they of course also spend money when they are here. In addition, most of the foreign escorts based here, would transmit a proportion of their profits back home. So they are a bit like the foreign multinationals repatriating their profits.
The alternative is to get Irish escorts to tour abroad and bring their foreign earnings home or to get punters to come to Ireland for sex holidays, however given the differences between prices here and the popular sex tourism locations, I don't think this is a starter. Maybe we need a government task force under somebody like Mary Coughlan to investigate what would be required to develop the sex economy here. A good marketing slogan would be "Cum to Ireland for a cupla focal".
