    Default England World Cup

Now that David Beckham has been ruled out of the World Cup who will the British media focus on in the lead up to the tournament?I guess Rooney will be hyped up as the superstar of the team but I think England will not make it past the quarter finals at best.

I'm not a follower of Socer but I do see nearly every single game of the World Cup. I love watching them.

I think your right here. England will probably never win again, at least not for the next 50 years. They have the players, they have the management but unfortunately they have massive egos and can't ever seem to play as a real team. Its so stupid. I think the British Club football scene has really destroyed the English Team as a unified force. Its all ego and bitter rivalries between over-paid dip shits. Pity really, they could win it if they "bov'ered".

Unfortunately for them, the Brits still have the " We rule the world Mentality", we invented soccer and we have the best league in the world. Unfortunately, the average Brit, i.e. their footballers, are basically stupid and believe their own shit.

Look at what a "Steaming Pile Of Shite" us fucking dumbarse Irish believe in before we knock others.
The Paddys Day Parade reveals what we truly have ------- alchohol, leprechauns and diddly diddly music., otherwords --- feckall.
The Eircom league is great though isnt it ?
Oh , and the Irish mentality ? ---- we are great competitors in the "Special Olympics" dont ye think ?

I think beckham not being there will work in their favour. They have the players from midfield and up top but they haven't got a world class keeper and the way terry is playing at the moment casues them another probelm.I think Spain have a great chance of winning it.

England dont need beckham. He is passed his prime now and they will have to see what the other youngsters in the squad can do. Throw Walcott /Wright Philips on the right wing with Gerrard and Fat Frank in the middle and J Cole on the left. Their only problem is if James starts in goal or if Cole and Terry start having a go at Rio Ferdinands or Micah Richards girls. England Quarter finals at best(Hopefully anyway. I dont think anyone else wants to hear about their win in another 60 years time, Jeez they still go on about 66)

I thick Beckham will still go to South Africa anyway as a sporting ambassador(or whatever the term is.) He made himself very visible when London was bidding for the 2012 Olympics so as England are hoping to host the World Cup in 2018 he would be the right person to press the flesh with Blatter and company.

Lads i hate to say it but i think those limey bastards have a terrific chance . Becks would have been a great sub to bring on the last 20mins to swing the balls in for crouch , i'm gutted for him he'll miss the finals . He has played his heart out in the past 2 yrs just to get into the squad , let alone the first team . Defoe and Rooney will score plenty and Lampard is always good for a deflected shot or 2 , so it's gotta be england for me

If Rooney can get adequate support from lamp-lard&gerro,inger-land cud reach the semis max before, true to form, they implode during a pen shoot-out with the germans/italians/argies etc. They have a great coach but the media's suffocating negativity over-burdens the team.I hope Spain win but they have a difficult path to the final.Diego maradona's mania should prove compelling (if a little counter-productive to argentina's ultimate chance of victory) viewing also.
