    Unhappy An appeal to Walkers.

No , its not a typo.

Firstly may I say that what I am about to complain about does not happen to me commonly but today was different and did irk me quite a bit.

I was out for a walk on my own and on a few seperate occassions was met with two people walking opposite. Now, I believe that it is polite and civil to make room on a sidewalk i.e. form a single file should there not be enough room for people to pass easily. I always do this and if in company ask my companion to make room if I have not already done it myself.

But today on four seperate occassions I was somewhat miffed by the lack of reciprocal behaviour from other pedestrians and was almost forced onto a busy road to avoid said walkers. Obviously I could not do this as it was dangerous but I was more than a little disgusted by such an obvious lack of some people to adopt a civil position.

May I add that this was not in the city centre but was out in suburbia in the early evening and most of these people were out for a leisurely stroll themselves, so no excuses about being in a hurry home or to or from work.

So, may I appeal to all to adopt or adapt to said civil behaviour.

    Angry

I'm probably going to get strung up for this but personally I feel it's mainly ladies that are downright ignorant when it comes to this behavior, they'd walk over you if they had to rather than make way. I would always be courteous to a lady and step aside but most ladies expect you to hop over a wall or step out in front of a car to make way for them, and to top it off a lot of the time they just completely ignore a friendly hello as they pass by.
As for letting you out into traffic whilst driving, don't get me started on that one

its only manners. I always move to one side for someone. I could easily blow a person out of the way with my shoulder. Easy even a very big guy but im only being a pig ignorant cunt then. When i come across people like that my reaction is always the same. Thank fuck im not like that.

    only basic manners,

its both sexes. One thing i do find though is if i hold a door open for someone or something like that ,i find women are more likely to say thanks and appreciate it. However i do find that when a woman doesnt say thanks it looks way worse for some reason.

I always laugh even at them, when i hold a door open for a man and he doesnt even say thanks. Real tough eh?

    not really,

I agree, a lot of ignorant people walking around. Some just amble along holding everyone up behind them. People just bharging through is another peev and as you said women who expect you too move even on to the road is a disgrace What I hate is the ones who just walk out infront of cars and expect them to stop. An accident waiting to happen
