I was taught in work that that's waycist!
If nationality is off limits then surely so too is age, and if those are off limits for the ladies then what's good for the goose is good for the gander I assume? So no more asking clients what country they're from? I burst out laughing when I first got a response asking that as it just seemed so out of the left field to me.
Frankly I don't give a fig, can't think of a nation where I have a strong bias against them such that I'd hold that against a random individual from the place any more than I would expect the ladies to assume that all Irish are spud munching muck savages (see Hygiene thread).
Bit uneasy with people lying about it but I get it, maybe they're trying to protect some element of privacy, though the mind that would try track down precisely where they are from, friends and family, etc... is not a mind I want to encounter, as why, surely you've something better to be doing???
Nor is there any where simply because someone is from there I am more interested than I would be otherwise.
Only reason I even look at it is to see if there's any potential points of discussion for during lulls in the meeting, but of course in my experience it's been inaccurate more often than not so not actually helpful there.
