Right The rest of the Dubs in the power are the ones that really fucked us over, not just poor auld Willie. Say what you like about about him and I will totally agree but he is always up and out early in the mornings walking around Limerick and can be seen till late at night still doing his 'political' works.

If only the rest of FF will follow his lead and resign, but sadly even if they do the shower waiting in the wings are equally inept at running the country properly

Not hard to see who is pro or con the government..

In any event, it is important to see that in a case like this where O'Dea modified his affidavit, I fail to see where the big issue is. I am not surprised to see him resign as one cannot be seen to have been as silly as he has been in his interview, however, th opposition has misread the situation... an affidavit is something you are questioned on and until that happens it is NOT perjury.

I am not a willie o'dea apologist, I am merely stating the facts. unlike the manic outbursts from the "leader of the opposition" today

Quite possibly anyway I imagine Enda is grateful that this has happened now. It takes the spotlight off him after the George Lee debacle.

It all started when Willie was enquiring to know if one of the brothels in his local constituency was still open for business, the house that was owned by another candidate in the election.... his problem was that he asked it to a journalist, which is a big no-no as we all know around here as they are just looking for stories to make up.

The other big mistake Willie made was using the real name of the person involved: Maurice Quinlivan. If only Willie had been around here more and listened to how it works.

So the journalist ran off claiming Willie had accused Maurice of being a pimp (running a brothel). As a person with a good reputation with the people in that area, Mr. Quinlivan took exception to being called a pimp, and then Willie forgot he had said things which came out on tape later.

I feel kind of sorry for him. His life is ruined for stupid things he said. I think he should be allowed another chance. It's a bit ridiculous how sensitive people are to this sort of thing.

is its once again shows the incompetence of the opposition. They should have being more on the ball and on it quicker than Boyle was (the only time he was ever on a ball).
