My mother passed away from MND. Lasted 8 long years. In a wheelchair for 6. Mobility in one hand for last two. Choked to death. A fate I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. Wouldn’t contemplate a visit to Switzerland or Holland at the end for fear of what would happen anyone who brought her.
So when the likes of David Quinn , the Iona Institute and the sundry other holy Joe’s and Josephine’s start campaigning and no doubt bringing legal actions against the Assisted Dyning legislation spare a thought for Charlie and the 300 other people who get an MND diagnosis every year. They deserve a choice without their relatives fearing prosecutions.
RIP Charlie.
