Thread: If questioned by Gardai, what's the best way of dealing with it?

Default If questioned by Gardai, what's the best way of dealing with it?

I was quite shocked yesterday to see on TV3 news that punters of that Chinese brothel in Dublin had to go to court and give evidence. I assume these guys panicked when being questioned after leaving the brothel and spilled the beans.

So, after leaving an establishment, if you're approached by someone who says they are a Garda what should you do?

If they ask for your name and address should you give it or make one up? If they ask what you were doing in the establishment what's the best excuse to give?

I remember reading a thread about this a while ago. Could someone give the link?

    lol!!!

You can try that, but it's mainly true that you should say nothing. Don't try to "explain" yourself, don't try to talk nice and let them know that you're a good man and think everything will be alright, that's when they'll nab you.

If they make you say something, don't be nice about it. Gardai are turned off by icy looks and cold shoulders just like everyone else. Otherwise they'll see you as a pushover.

    Default Ignorance is bliss !

Yaaarrrrr, reminds me of a certain BBC Mastermind episode a good while ago.

Magnus Magnusson introduces Patrick Maloney, bricklayer Dundalk, answering questions on the
    history of the IRA.

Magnus ,- " In what year was the IRA first founded ?" -- ----- Patrick, "Dont know Sir"
Magnus , - "What was the Easter Uprising ?" ------------------- Patrick, "Em - dont know Sir"
Magnus,- " Who was Wolfe Tone ?" --------------------------- Patrick, "I dont know that one Sir"
Irish voice from the public audience ------------ " Thats right Paddy, tell em feck-all " :
