Today was both the best and worst day of my life

Went out to dinner with a few friends. Grand evening. Nice food. Good wine. Great craic. Most of them are married, a select few of us that ain't. One lady in particular I've fancied for a while. Haven't known each other long, 6 months or so? Met at work. Let's call her... Ciara.

Dinner over, and everyone's saying their goodbyes cos they need to get home to their significant others, blah blah blah. So that was that I thought, everyone's gone and I'm heading home to an empty house. Well, Ciara tips my shoulder from behind, and asks me am I doing anything? I said I had nothing planned, and she asks if I want to come over and have a few drinks and maybe watch a movie. Grand I said, we'd done that a couple of times with some of the others, but never just us so I thought nothing of it - I never asked her out or anything, cos I'm basically Pluto to her Neptune; so nothing like that was in mind.

We got to her place, and we prep the wine, popcorn, and start watching a movie. We only ended up actually watching about half of it, cos we were too busy talking. Chatting about dinner, about the others, particularly 1 or 2 individuals who it turns out neither of us are particularly fond of - one's a complete fucking Karen, and the other cunt is the biggest dickhead on the continent.

She goes to the loo, so I just play with the phone. Preparing to head home too as it was getting pretty late, and I was feeling kinda tired. She's on her way back, but trips on the mat and comes hurtling towards the front of the couch where I'm sitting. I put my arms out to help her, and I guide her fall onto the couch, her falling on top of me. I ask her if she's okay, which she was. We both giggle a bit, and she says sorry. She starts to lift her head up, and it was at that moment our eyes met. We just look at each other for a few short seconds, the room suddenly so quiet that you could hear a fly's wings flap. My heart pumping so fast I swear I've been hit with an adrenaline shot, as I'm thinking "is this what I think it is". She drops her eyelids ever so slightly and looks at me really flirtaciously, and I do the same. She leans down towards me, her eyes closing and her lips are puckering. Our lips are a split second away from touching and then...

I wake up.
