Needless to say I hate my job. Does it pay the bills? Yes. Do I make a comfortable living? Yes. 6 figures? Not even half that. But I'm fucking miserable. First thought when I get in every morning: is it finishing time yet? Worst time of the week: Sunday night, cos I know what's coming. Does it affect me mentally? Yes, I want to die. Now would be good. Is there anything positive I get out of it? It gives me a reason to see my therapist every month. 8 hours a day 5 days a fucking week. Goddamn. I appreciate it, don't get me wrong. Being able to go out and earn a decent living, it's a luxury that many could only dream of. But the job itself is killing me, draining my soul of its life energy. Interesting? Nope. Challenging? Nope. Watching paint dry would be more challenging and interesting. Good people? Meh.

    You?
I’m guessing you are mired in some civil service job, revenue or the HSE or some other overstaffed arm of the state, very easy to sink without trace in those places

    Love my job.
Would go to work for free.
Except I do like the money and I need it for escorts.

I suspect like me they also love their job and would probably work with me for free, except like me they need the money.

I love my job. I know that's easy to say but I actually do. I love being wanted and appreciated. I love the satisfaction of getting a problem sorted excluding cost.

" I don't care what it costs" is one of those phrases I hear at least 2 or 3 times a week.... I charge well for what I do and don't make any excuses for it.

I love the variety, the different people I meet every day. I love the satisfaction of getting something done that others have tried and failed to do previously.

I love my job..... just don't let the client know that.
