Default Do you like your job?

    Poll incoming.

Needless to say I hate my job. Does it pay the bills? Yes. Do I make a comfortable living? Yes. 6 figures? Not even half that. But I'm fucking miserable. First thought when I get in every morning: is it finishing time yet? Worst time of the week: Sunday night, cos I know what's coming. Does it affect me mentally? Yes, I want to die. Now would be good. Is there anything positive I get out of it? It gives me a reason to see my therapist every month. 8 hours a day 5 days a fucking week. Goddamn. I appreciate it, don't get me wrong. Being able to go out and earn a decent living, it's a luxury that many could only dream of. But the job itself is killing me, draining my soul of its life energy. Interesting? Nope. Challenging? Nope. Watching paint dry would be more challenging and interesting. Good people? Meh.

    You?

I think I've had an epiphany... at work, I'm not me. I just turn into this lifeless drone. Maybe that's why I'm so hyper when I'm on here... compensating for hours where I've basically been a turtle all day by retreating into my shell.

Goddamn I should be a therapist.

    Wait... even better...

And just like that... I've derailed my own thread before anyone even had the chance to read it!

... you're also talking to yourself.

Don’t know what your job is there if you are going to change jobs it’s as good as it gets at the moment in a lot of sectors.

I left a job I’d been in for almost 20 years stuck from inertia and too fixated on money. I’m in a new lower paid part time role but far less stressful role and feel a different person.
I love my new job. Here a year and fully intend to retire here. I will have to work a bit longer than I intended to keep the pension pot bubbling but overall a worthwhile trade.

I appreciate not everyone has financial flexibility to go part time or take pay cut but sometimes even a change of company can help. Work takes up so much of one’s life there is no point being miserable in it. Stress will knock years of your life.

9 to 5 job is not for me, i think uni was bit of waste of time too, hate the idea of making someone else rich busting my ass,
I got a few properties and then invested in others and now i'm a part time TV, also a mod but don't get paid there and also travel alot now to different countries and do content and its starting to bring in a good income, pity YouTube are so greedy as taking a huge chuck of it too but i enjoy what i do, better than been stuck in some office anyway.
YOU wont get rich working for someone else

You should definetely change your job. I know it can be difficult to leave your comfortable zone and start some new job. But our mental health is number one… i believe all diseases are from bad lifestyle and bad mental health.

I have a good job close to home.
    Money is ok.
Do I love what I do no way.
Would I leave it in the morning if I could get the same money doing what I love close to home in a heart beat.

Hold on, you have a job close to home but would leave it to get a job close to home, what’s the plan?, to work in your garden?
