Default Animal welfare in this country is a fucking joke

I'm not on about hunting, or coursing, or anything like that. They have issues themselves, that's not what this is about; I refer mostly to the general state of animal welfare, and mainly the laws or complete lack there of that should be there to protect those that can't speak up for themselves.

Tonight, 7 young pups were rescued by Limerick Animal Welfare (LAW) - probably the largest and well known animal welfare charity in Limerick. Rough estimate I'd say around 10 weeks old. These pups were thrown over an elderly lady's wall and left there. Discarded, thrown away like rubbish. In a complete state of distress. As too was the elderly lady, her daughter contacted the sanctuary and thankfully these puppies are now in their care, despite themselves already full to capacity, which they are rarely not - I dare say the same applies to a lot of similar places all throughout the country.

There was a similar case a few months ago, again with LAW. A man threw a dog, couple of years old, over a wall into a complete stranger's garden, only this time the poor dog was in a bag - I cannot recall if the bag was tied or not.

Here's another recent case of cruelty: the picture speaks for itself. CAUTION: some people may find this distressing, so I'll just post the link. This is again from LAW's facebook.

Every fucking week I hear of some similar barbaric act of cruelty in some part of the fucking country. From cases like the above, to dogs being kicked around by young teens like a football, newborn pups shoved into a bag and thrown in the river to drown. And I've seen a hell of a lot worse than that.

Adopting any animal is not like owning a fucking toy, that you can do with it as you wish. It is a living, breathing, sentient being that becomes your RESPONSIBILITY! Just like a child! And I for one have fucking HAD IT with so many dogs, cats, etc being treated like fucking pieces of trash, tossed around, neglected and abused! If ever I came upon someone doing something like this... I don't know if I'd have the strength to stop myself from painting the ground with their blood. By god, they certainly deserve it.

I saw that yesterday. Heartbreaking. Dunno how somebody can be so cruel. They are so adorable. So easy to find them new home or bring them to shelter. Last years so many animal cruelty go in on here...

I look forward to meeting you soon, lovely Gentlemen ♡

So dispiriting, fostering dogs when I can over many years, you think you have seen it all until the next one comes along in an even worse condition... some people are just oblivious to the suffering of other creatures, always makes me wonder about their upbringing and how did it get to this...on the plus side when I see my care in his/her new home it's so uplifting. It's great when people keep in contact and send updates and photos of the dogs progress..there are so many great people out there, let's not forget that

Aww bless you. Such important part of adoption and mental healing for them. Well done ❤️
More people like you are needed.

I always wondered as well what kind of people are able to do such horrible, awful, disgusting things. Their background.

I look forward to meeting you soon, lovely Gentlemen ♡
