Default Do you ever feel lonely

This is a topic that has been on my mind recently or a lot of my life probably.

More interested in others thoughts than rambling away myself but Ill give a brief outline of how it affects me,

In early 40s- not married- am in a relationship thou its hard to say if its going the distance. My heart remains fond also for a different woman so hoping to decide on all that in the coming year and be clearer on things. Ill either be buying the ring for one of these this year or quite possibly ill be finished with both

Friendship wise- You know and I think I miss this- I dont have any real close male buddies- I did up until around age 28- but had a falling out and funnily enough have general acquaintances since then but no real best mates if that makes sense. I have a lot of acquaintances like its not as if am not meeting people at all, but not really part of a tight group as such. I have a nice friendship with one of the ladies here- she often gives me advice over the phone and Im grateful to her but I dont want to be annoying her too much outside of appointments and so on.

Overall I am a loner thou I also welcome company at times.

Anyway was in a coffee shop a week ago and seemingly happy working away on my computer no one looking over my shoulder. But I also noticed many tables- people having the chat and banter and in good spirits,
I says to myself well Im in good enough form but you know what Im pretty fukking lonely.

Anyway- whats your story- Any of you lonely?
A dangerous weakness of mine- "an attraction for fast women and slow horses"

Man, my story is a lot like yours.
Mid 40's, unmarried, and grown apart from lads I considered close friends. No falling out really, just faded away.
A real friend is someone you can get really stuck into conversation with, someone who will be there when you need them. I have not encountered someone like that for a looong time now.
Acquaintances, sure, there's been plenty of those. But try to go deep on society, or philosophy, or politics, and watch their eyes glaze over!

Generally speaking I don't feel lonely, I've always been pretty comfortable with my own company, it's just now and then it'll suddenly hit hard for a while and then move on.
Relationships are a funny one. Part of me would love to get into one again, but I'm not sure why. You'd think sex was an obvious answer, but that ain't it - that's one thing (thanks in part to this site) that I'm not missing out on.
The last two long term relationships I was in, I couldn't wait to get out of them in the end. I feel like I'm just chasing a phantom, or some ideal that I think is out there but probably isn't.

Hmmm, on that note, I think I'm gonna go out and get absolutely shit-faced this weekend!

The same way punters selfmedicate with escorts, escorts selfmedicate with punters too.
Don't wait to get confident. Just do it, and eventually the confidence will follow

    Yep!

But my attitude towards this is this, it is just another standard human emotion we all feel loneliness every now and then. All my life I have been perfectly happy in my own company, I知 one of these types of people I知 happy to travel alone I知 happy to go to the cinema alone I知 happy to go to a concert alone I知 happy to go to a football match alone etc etc

However the downside to this is a do tend to isolate myself a little, but I just make sure they to in touch with family and friends to try to counteract this I schedule video chats and meeting up, I think we have to take a proactive approach ourselves to avoid ending up feeling lonely

I can't stand my own company.
From the moment I wake I'm interacting with family, friends and work colleagues. My day life is fairly busy with people.
It's late at night that's hard, watching a movie bursting out laughing....... on your own!!
Wouldn't say I'm lonely but I do thrive from banter, chats and generally craic

This perfectly sums up concisely my situation, except I'm now a retired pensioner, but managing to keep going with fitness and of course the thought of meeting someone special on this site, which I've done recently.

Yep, probably 50% of the reason I spend time with the ladies is out of loneliness. Like a lot of other people I'm happy enough in my own company, I've always felt like I suffered more when in a relationship than not in one. Finding escorting as a service has been a god send, so I can stay single, not worry about not getting sex when I desperately need it, and continue to live a happy single life on my own until the loneliness creeps back in. And when that happens, yeah, you have to get out of the house and talk to somebody, so getting sex and a hit of company at the same time is the prefect solution.
