There was an easyjet flight from Manchester to Gibraltar recently diverted to Malaga.

Half the brits on board were not allowed even disembark as they had no passports and had to return to good ol England. Another brexit bonus lol

I hope that for anyone who reads this that you have stayed safe and out of harms way of the storm whatever part of the country you may be in this evening. I can tell you that there are trampolines, trees, and bits of stone walls currently flying all over the place in the Wesht here.

However this did give me a bit of a giggle this evening, it’s been reported in the news that a fully booked flight from Manchester to Dublin Had to turn back from Dublin to the UK as the winds were too high here.

However on returning to the UK, the pilots were told the same thing there, and so they end up having to land in Paris.

Can you imagine getting on a plane in Manchester, expecting to get off in Dublin, and you somehow find yourself in Charles de Gaulle, I’ll because there was a bit of drying out!!!!
Got caught in a major thunderstorm once while flying. Not a pleasant experience. There was a young lad next to me and I thought he was going to squeeze my hand off. We all went into the head between knees position when the turbulence got so bad. I tell you, I thanked the lord and the pilot that night when we got in. Also got caught in one of those dodgy landings in high winds one time too. The damn plane was at an angle to the runway as we HIT the ground second time round. Phew. Those pilots deserve every penny they make.

Ooooh scary stuff! I have experienced turbulence on several locations, but in a warped way for me it is a bit of an adrenaline rush, almost like being on a rollercoaster ride, because I have watched that many episodes of air crash investigation that during turbulence I am able to confidently say to myself “this is just another day at the office for the pilots, nothing to see here people . . .

However if it ever got to the heads between the knees stage I would probably start praying in 10 different religions, and praying to even Batman him self . . .

Robbie, your post made me laugh, wasting the petrol ha ha I’m trying to think of a non-condescending way to say this and I certainly don’t mean to be condescending, I think you are a sweetheart, but plane don’t use petrol like that we put into our cars, now I’m far from an expert but I am qualified in watching reruns of ‘air crash investigation’ so hence I consider myself an expert in this field (of course I’m joking people!!!)

Tv has Taught me that planes run on aviation fuel which is made up of kerosene.

Tv has also taught me that since Putin kicked off his shenanigans the cost of aviation fuel has absolutely skyrocketed!!!
Not to mention that he wouldn’t wanna be on a plane where the airline prioritises “petrol” over passenger’s safety
Lead me not into temptation. I know the way
