Lightbulb Suggestions to improve the review system.......

I see a fair few complaints about the review system again. I know that Patricia is working on changes/improvements to the system at the moment. In fairness, these things don't just happen overnight, so, in the meant time, perhaps people would like to make suggestions here as to how they would solve the problems thay have come accross, ie. picture verification etc...........

    Default Effort

I use this site to check on profiles, for the reviews and for the odd amusing post (or amusing odd post). I appreciate the efforts of all involved , particularly Sarah, whom I have most dealings with as regards reviews.
I am of the honest opinion that things can be prompted to change, but only through the support of others. We are all users of this site, there are commercial interests involved, but it is only through voicing an opinion that any suggested change will be highlighted, viewable to others and either ignored, commented upon or enacted. As an active user I am certainly not going to give up commenting, or reviewing, positive or negative, whilst using the site.

The points, suggestions, comments have been made. My last recollection was that the review was due Nov but could have been early Dec. I know these things don't happen overnight, the point is, if there is a will on the part of the operators of this site, with the feedback already reveived from loads of people (El Gordo, Karin, Elle to name a few), change is the easy part. I have yet to be convinced about the willingness....

I have been posting on this site for almost two years now and the same subjects just seem to keep coming up... Reviews and photos. If after two years there is still nothing done about it, they will hardly be in a mad rush to do it now.... A lot of promised made very few delivered.

I think the photos problem is insoluble. As long as there are punters who will stay and pay after seeing that it's someone else, there will be escorts who will use fake photos, and there isn't much we can do about it.

The reviews system, on the other hand, can be improved. As MrFussy said, most of the suggestions have already been made. Realistically, many of them won't work as well as hoped, just as the "trusted reviewer" system has been a disappointment. Whenever you change the system, people figure out new ways to get around it.

From a technical point of view, I've been told that the reviews system is a bit of an afterthought, tacked on to the message boards software. It might be worth keeping the reviews database and starting from scratch with the rest of the system. It can't be separated entirely from the boards, because the registration process is the same and some information from the reviews system appears at the top of boards posts, while the number of message board posts and a link to the member profile appears at the top of reviews.

“All right,” said the Cat; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone.

It is part of the industry - bad, sad, none, and fake reviews.

Like men with a stinky bottom and a grubby penis.

There are probably others I've forgotten as well. Don't bother to read them all. The same suggestions keep coming up again and again. Which is kind of the point, actually.
